Hello Marc,
As i understand your problem correctly, if the Barcode is INITIAL you need not to show the blank space,
So for this my suggestion is to go with ALTERNATE , as shown below
This will create two nodes TRUE & FALSE.
In the General attribute tab of Alternate , you can put condition as BARCODE VALUE not equal INITIAL.
After that in TRUE node you can put the Text file with Barcode Values .
In False node no need to put any text file .
How it work :- If Barcode value is true it will print the respective barcode & if it is false it wont print anything even no blank space.

Hi Romit,
this might be a way, but why are you triing it to do with an alternative. You might not know, but if you use the condition-tab (which is available nearly everywhere in your smartform) you got exact the same logic without having this big overhead of a non-used false node.
So please stay patient and let's see what Marc share with us before going through wild suggestions.

thanks for you quick reply. In the meanwhile this issue has been fixed. Before the barcode was placed with a loop which determines the delivery items. Which that configuration the space always printed.
Now the barcode definition has been moved to a higher node and it is working.

Instead of using the standard output type NEU,Pls create a customized output type.
Assign the program and smartform to the new output type.

yes this is possible. There are some different ways to do it.
The easiest is to create a second message (for example YRDM - M for Mail) and do the same configure as the other message. I think not all of your customers want to receive a mail.
Other way is to do it via the driver-program and put some special handling in...
First of all you need to tell us what way you would prefer. Developing or customizing...
The story afterwards is a way to different to tell both

For the paragraph format used with the ADDRESS command, indicate that you don't want blank lines.
Eg. /: ADDRESS PARAGRAPH ZD
So for this Paragraph Format 'ZD' check the checkbox 'No Blank Lines'.

That means, you need an ABAPer and debug into it, to see why it is not released at all. If you get any kind of error-messages while processing the po might be helpful.

you have to use SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 function in the smartfoms.
Also you can select the mail info from table ADR6.

Error message with SPED output type
Hi,
I want to use output type SPED to create inbound deliveries from outbound deliveries automatically. I did all the configurations in the output determination procedures, however, when I want to trigger the output type SPED on the outbound delivery, the system says "No communication data is determined for the transmission medium". I wonder how I can resolve this issue. Any comments are appreciated.

Are you sure that is the correct error that is reported. From what I
found this is an information message.
In the Outbound Delivery when you check output sped if you check in
the processing log what is the error message reported here? Can you
attach a screen shot of it?
